Position Offered: Clinical & Research Psychiatrist

Princeton Medical Institute, a Global Medical Institutes, LLC company, is searching for a board certified psychiatrist for our research practice to maintain both private clinical patients as well as research patients.

Job Purpose: The Physician is responsible for providing a full range of primary mental health services to patients, with a focus on promotion of optimal mental health, including medication management. Duties include collaboration with management staff, including PA-Cs, ARNPs, nursing staff and Psychiatric staff.

As a Principal Investigator, the individual will be responsible for supervising a program of extramurally funded research. Research areas may include Alzheimer’s research, Depression, Schizophrenia, ADHD, PTSD, Anxiety, Bipolar, and may others.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, including patient mental status, current and past histories of violence and self-harm behavior, substance use, level of functioning, health behaviors, trauma, medical and social history, and family history.
  • Accurately diagnose commonly occurring psychiatric disorders, as well as exacerbation and reoccurrences of chronic disorders and symptoms of a new emerging disorder.
  • Evaluate potential abuse, neglect, and risk of danger to self or others, and assist patient and family in securing appropriate treatment environment to ensure safety.
  • Develop treatment plans for psychiatric disorders based on practice guidelines and evidence based standards of care. This includes treatment of acute and chronic psychiatric and mental health issues.
  • Prescribe psychotropic and related medications based on clinical indicators including diagnosis, lab tests, and patient status, to treat symptoms of the disorder and improve functioning and quality of life, ensuring patient safety through appropriate prescription management.
  • Lead, and collaborate with others, both within and outside PMI, to develop research proposals and write grants for external funding that align with the mission and strategic direction of PMI
  • Disseminate findings through peer-reviewed publications, presentations at scientific and community meetings, internal and external seminars, and other venues
  • Participate in multi- and transdisciplinary collaborations and in national and international professional associations and conferences
  • Provide consultation, review or co-investigator collaboration on PMI colleagues’ projects and studies, as well as mentorship to junior level investigators
  • Provide oversight of research projects

This is a full time role with working hours from mainly Monday to Friday from 9 am to 5:30 pm. Applications should anticipate 40 hour work weeks, with flexibility possible. This position is ideal for someone who has recently completed a residency or fellowship program.

Compensation:

  • Competitive Salary: 300k annually
  • A full benefits package including contributing health insurance, 401K, 15 days accrued PTO
