NJPPC Webinar Series – An Introduction to the NJ Pediatric Psychiatry Collaborative (NJPPC)

The New Jersey Psychiatric Association is hosting a a four-part webinar series "Transforming the Delivery of Children's Mental Health Care: The Role of the Psychiatrist." This series includes nationally recognized leaders in child and adolescent psychiatry who will address pressing issues including innovative methods to provide equitable access to care, reduce health care disparities, support health care promotion and prevention, and deliver trauma-informed care.

The kick-off webinar, "An Introduction to the New Jersey Pediatric Psychiatry Collaborative" is scheduled for Monday, November 8,2021 at 5:30pm. Keynote speaker Barry Sarvet, MD, Medical Director of the Massachusetts Child Psychiatry Access Project will provide a comprehensive overview of collaborative care models and share his expertise as a national leader in child psychiatry access programs. Developed in response to the growing challenges families face in accessing mental health treatment, child psychiatry access programs bring pediatricians into collaborative partnership with child and adolescent psychiatrists to support a triaged approach to delivering evidence-based care based on the severity of the child's needs. During this webinar, attendees will also hear from providers directly associated with our state's child psychiatry access program who will highlight the role of the psychiatrist in the New Jersey Pediatric Psychiatry Collaborative.

Keynote Speaker
Warren Y. K. Ng, M.D., M.P.H., Professor of Psychiatry, Columbia University; Medical Director for Outpatient Behavioral Health at NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center (CUIMC); and Director of Clinical Services, Division of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry at CUIMC. Dr. Ng oversees the comprehensive spectrum of clinical programs in child, adolescent, and adult outpatient and community behavioral health at NewYork-Presbyterian’s Division of Community and Population Health. He is the President of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent (AACAP) and also serves on the NYS Governor’s Behavioral Health Services Advisory Council.
